Pretense is a social battle.
Fortunately or unfortunately, there is always a reason somebody pretends at that moment or period.
With pretense, the truth does catch up with us and at that point it may be too late to turn back and find our true existence.
Pretense causes apathy and depression; even if it does not show outwardly at first.
One pretends to be happy for her friend’s new baby when yet inwards she feels devastated after many years of barrenness.
One pretends to be sad in a funeral of a friend’s friend who would do anything to make him or her miserable.
One pretends to have an orgasm in bed with her husband because she just wants to get over with it.
Pretense is cruel because despite it helping you get rid of that situation, it will haunt you later; whether it is a deed or a thought.
Yet again it’s hard to tell a human being to always tell the truth.
Measure the portion of pretense so that it’s not cruel to you in the future.
