SOUL SEARCHING: PART 1

Exodus 4:14

“Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you.”

Lessons Learnt:

1. God always has a plan.

It’s easy to give up when you find yourself in a situation you’re not in control of. But it was never intended for you to be in control in the first place. God has it mapped out and he caters for your weaknesses. He winks at you because He knows you can. He brings people in your life whose strengths take the place of your weaknesses and bring balance. What He sets for you, it’s yours. However, we fear opportunities enough to create the lamest excuses and use words like ‘I can’t’, ‘Impossible’ or ‘I don’t know’. Nobody ever knows or has it all figured out and that’s what creates life. Life is filled with trials which unleash your potential that was blocked by fear. Moving forward opens up success and room to walk with the Legends. Take that leap of faith.

2. You can never succeed alone.

Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates or Richard Branson, they all received help from their spouses, close friends or new optimistic employees. When you’re the one passionate about a certain idea, you become the Engine. But for this car to move, you need the steering wheel, tires, fuel, brakes, and accelerator to move forward. Ask for some help or advice, and as Paulo Coelho clearly shares, ‘When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’

3. A Jack of All Trades is a Myth.

There is confusion that comes with practicing everything and specializing in nothing. There is a unique talent that defines you. To create a tidy and focused life, it helps to gain expertise on a specific thing and be excellent in it. It brings inner peace and a better guideline of where you are going and who you are. Your identity!

4. Age is but a Number.

Moses was the younger brother to Aaron yet he was the chosen one to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. There is a tendency of young people saying, ‘I’m too young’ or ‘Maybe one day’. Why not now? Your mind does not depend on the number of years you stay on earth. If you quench your mind and let the skills or knowledge spread through you and show it, you can reach beyond your expectations. Be open to the idea that your dream is valid now and walk along with it forgetting time. Time is just an illusion.

5. Everyone is valuable.

We all have qualities within us, some different, others the same. They each have their time and place. Nobody is worthless. Never take away one’s dignity because your ego fools you to be better than them. Realize that every breath is a chance for each of us to live to our potential. You either give a helping hand, ask for a helping hand or do nothing at all. But never put someone down.
